Jamb commences registration for 2021 UTME, imposes NIN for registration exercise.

The  Joint Admission and Metriculation Board Jamb has officially commenced registration for the 2021  UTME  on 8 April, to be closed on 15 May, 2021.

This year’s registration, the board has said that the National Identity Number NIN is compulsory for every candidate  as the requirement for the registration.

Few months in this year federal government has made it compulsory for all mobile phone users to link  NIN with their Sim Cards numbers otherwise the sim Cards will have been blocked.

The board said every candidate must  to obtain the (NIN) number before he/she gets registered.

This was contained in statement issued by the chairman of the board prof. Ishak Olayede, who had a virtual meeting with the owners of the CBT centres, who said this directive was given by the minister of education, Adamu Adamu who said the reason for this was to checkmate the security issues in Nigeria.

He also added that they are creating synergy with ministry of Communication and Digital Economy to grant conditional waiver to 20 percent of candidates who don’t have Sim cards.
